VHA Gait and Balance Laboratory

This lab is equipped to conduct complex clinical evaluations of veterans at high risk for injuries due to falls including valid and reliable physiologic measures of gait patterns, balance reactions, and postural control. The capabilities of this lab include valid and reliable physiologic measures of gait patterns, balance reactions, and postural control using a Neurocom motion analysis system. The lab was recently expanded to include a research-quality electromagnetic motion tracking system, which can be used to record and assess dynamic gait and movement patterns.  The lab is staffed with a physical therapist and occupational therapist.
